A recent report shows that the decimation of the Democrat Party under President Obama’s tenure has been historically bad – far worse than had even been initially reported.
The Democrat Party has lost over 1,030 combined seats during his eight years in office, seats ranging from state legislatures, governorships, upward to Congress and now even the White House.
By any measure, Obama’s policies and legacy being on the ballot have been devastating to the Democrat Party.
President Barack Obama often cites numbers like these while boasting about his tenure in the White House: 15 million new jobs, a 4.9 per cent unemployment rate and 74 months of consecutive job growth.
But one number almost always goes unheard: more than 1,030 seats.
That’s the number of spots in state legislatures, governor’s mansions and Congress lost by Democrats during Obama’s presidency.
Democrats now “hold the governor’s office and both legislative chambers in just five coastal states: Oregon, California, Connecticut, Rhode Island and Delaware.”
Republicans have hold on all three roles in 25 states, many of which happen to be in flyover country.
Fun fact – Obama is the worst president since World War II in terms of boosting his party’s state level strength. The best at doing so was President Ronald Reagan, who managed to actually help Republicans gain seats – six of them – in statewide roles.
The President recently declared in an interview that he could have won another election if he were able to run, a claim that seems a bit deluded considering how badly his policies have translated to the American voter.
South Carolina state Senator Vincent Sheheen said “What’s happened on the ground is that voters have been punishing Democrats for eight solid years — it’s been exhausting.”
He added, “If I was talking about a local or state issue, voters would always lapse back into a national topic: Barack Obama.”
In other words, voters despise Obama’s policies – even as the President’s approval rating climbs during the waning years of his administration. Meaning that Americans aren’t racist since they like the man, but hate his agenda.
Something Obama can’t seem to grasp.
